The Hollow Quest Guide
After launching Dress to Impress, click on the Hollow option at the bottom left of the main menu to be taken to the story quest. If you can’t find this option, you need to complete the Tales of the Dark King Quest Chapter 1 story quest first. Once done, click on the Hollow button to be transported to the Hollow world. Over here, you will find a crying Lana, and you can talk to her to trigger the start of the quest. There’s also a letter beside her that you can read to learn more about the lore.
The wooden barricaded wall beside her will collapse after completing the conversation, and you can go through it to the very end of the corridor. At the end of the corridor is a Grim Reaper you can talk to, but you won’t get anything important out of him. Make your way down the stairs and step on any of the lit-up boxes. You could either wait for 3 other people to join you, or let the timer countdown end and go solo.
Traveling Across the River
After the brief cutscene that shows your character getting on a boat, you will be transported to another area. Over here, you will hear an ominous warning from the Ferryman. Walk forward after listening to his warning, after which your character will be back on the boat. On the boat, you will spot a lit lantern right at the hull, and a fuel vase at the other end of the boat.
Your goal here is to carry the fuel and add it to the lantern so it doesn’t go out. Along the way, evil souls will try to get on the boat, and you need to click on them so your character can whack them off the boat ledge.
Keeping the Boat Lantern Lit
I recommend waiting until the lantern is nearing the end before adding more fuel. That way, you can conserve the fuel and also keep the lantern lit to its full potential. You also need to keep the distance left in mind, as you need to keep the lantern lit throughout the whole 180 yards. Don’t worry if you run out of fuel or if your lantern goes out, as the Ferryman will stop the boat somewhere, and you need to get off to find more fuel. To find fuel, you need to look around for pale blue orbs with lines circling around them.
There are 10 of them scattered around the island, so collect them all before getting back on the boat. Be careful while navigating the island, as you can’t step on the water and you need to walk on any dry areas. Once you have collected all the orbs, make your way back to the boat and continue traveling down the river. If you run out of fuel again, the boat will make another pit stop, where you need to collect more fuel orbs.
Getting the Veil of Darkness
Once your boat journey ends, you will reach Soul Field. Look around to find a spirit that will guide you to your final destination. When you get close to the spirit, it will go ahead, so continue to follow it. Eventually, you will reach an area with some ghosts you can interact with. Once that is done, you will be taken back to the lobby. Now, all you need to do is load up The Hollow and take the elevator to the 5th floor. Navigate the maze corridor upon reaching the floor to find the Dress to Impress room and claim the Veil of Darkness.
