Hello Kitty Island Adventure’s new update is all about building homes for yourself and your friends. The process is simple, and My Melody and others will help you with it. Here is a quick breakdown of how building houses works in the game.
Hello Kitty Island Adventure – How to Start Building Character Homes
You would have built your home as part of the main story in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, but you can’t let your friends stay homeless. Further into the game, you can start helping others build their homes too, starting with Hello Kitty herself. Check your quest log to find a quest called Hello Home to start building your first character home.
Acquire Drafting Table
No home plan can be thought of overnight, so you need to speak to My Melody and craft a drafting table to use Construction Plans on it. You would have acquired a Drafting Table from My Melody right after repairing your home’s foundation and clearing the Crafty Drafting quest. If you haven’t completed the quest yet, check your quest log to find the quest and gather the following materials for Chococat.
- 5x Sand Dollars
- 3x Sugar Kelp
- 1x Paper
- 1x Spark
Building Homes for Others
Once done, speak to My Melody, and she will give you the Island Home in a Box item. Interact with the Drafting Table and use the required materials mentioned in the Island Home in a Box to construct a new home for yourself. If you speak to My Melody again, she will mention building a home for Hello Kitty, so speak to Hello Kitty, and she will tell you where she prefers her foundation built.
After that, speak to Hello Kitty and My Melody to get the Construction Plan to be used at the Drafting Table to help customize Hello Kitty’s home. Once the customizations are done, Hello Kitty will plan a party to host at her new home and invite everyone over. Help her with the rest of the quest to complete building Hello Kitty’s home.
If you check your quest log after that, you will get quests to build homes for other characters too, like Keroppi, Badtz-maru, My Melody, and Kuromi. You will get them as part of 2 quests named Dream Homes Part 1 and Part 2. The process is the same, and you can speak to My Melody and the rest of the characters to find their preferred foundation area and collect the Construction Plans for each home.

Currently, there is no option to convert your home into a fast travel point, as only your cabin allows you to fast travel from place to place.
Are houses unlocked early in the game?
