How to Complete A Ring For Fingers Quest
This side quest is part of the Admission To The Old Camp main story quest in Chapter 1. This is an optional side quest, as you need to complete just 6 out of the 7 side quests for this chapter to unlock the next chapter. If you choose to complete this quest, then you need to speak to Diego first and pick the Who Can Teach Me Skills dialog option.
He will point you to Fingers, who is on the western road from Thorus. Go down the slope and take the first right to find him in front of a hut. If you have the map, he is usually in the northern section of Old Camp, between the red and brown buildings.
How to Unlock Scatty’s Chest
Once you find Fingers, tell him that you wish to learn how to become a Shadow. You should also request him to put in a good word for you. Then, go through the dialogs until you get the option to learn new skills. Pick the Lockpicking skill, which will require 10 LP and 100 Ore. Then, enter the hut on the left side of Fingers.
After stepping in, you will find the locked chest at the back of the room. Now comes the complicated part of the game, where you need to lockpick the chest to retrieve Scatty’s Ring. To do so, you need to follow a series of instructions carefully. One wrong move and you might need to redo the entire sequence. Let’s begin by first learning the lockpicking mechanics.
How to Lockpick
For most lockpicking mini-games, you get a set of 5 lockpicking plates or 6 lockpicking plates, depending on the chest you wish to unlock. Within each lock is a brass pin. Your goal here is to move the lock plates around so that the brass pin is in the central hole of each plate.
You get a limited number of tries before the lockpick breaks. At 0 lockpick level, you get 4 tries, but at advanced levels, you will get more tries. Also, some of the lockpicking plates will move together if you move one of them.
To reduce the plate connections, upgrading your lockpicking level will help. You can always return to Fingers to upgrade your Lockpicking skill, but you will be required to shell out more LP and Ores per upgrade.
Now, on with Scatty’s chest. There are 5 plates here, and there are two ways to solve the puzzle. The solutions given below are after unlocking the Lockpicking skill from Fingers for the first time.

Why does my lockpick puzzle look different?
Make sure you are interacting with the chest inside the hut beside Fingers, and not the chest inside the room beside the arena. The puzzles of each chest will vary, so make sure you are interacting with the right chest to get Scatty’s Ring.
How do I make Scatty leave the hut?
Scatty usually isn’t available in the mornings, which is the best time to loot his chest. You can also visit Jackal at the Marketplace near the southern gate entrance and pay him 10x Ore Nuggets to have him protect you while you loot the chest.
