In Hello Kitty Island Adventure’s new update, you can now build your home and invite friends to come over anytime. But first, you need to learn how to build your foundation and your starting home. Once you have decided on a location, you need to work towards obtaining cornerstones to set a foundation for your new home.

Cornerstone Quest Guide
After unlocking the 3.0 update, speak to My Melody at her store. She will lament that everyone on the island has their own space except for the two of you. This will start the Cornerstone quest, and you need to follow My Melody to the northern plaza bridge. Speak to her here again, and she will comment that she enjoyed building the bridge with you and wishes to start a new construction project.
Follow her across the bridge towards Home Island, and you will find a new island beyond this. This is where you can set up your home base, but before you can do that, My Melody will tell you to set up cornerstones first and repair your base. She will hand over your first cornerstone, but you need to collect more cornerstones to complete the repairs.
Give Gifts to Friends
The next step of the Cornerstone quest is to give three friends different gifts. If you check the quest log, it will tell you which friends you need to meet up with and what gifts you should give them. The requests are:
- Chococat: 1x Blank Book
- Badtz-maru: 1x Coconut
- Hello Kitty: 1x Strawberry
Coconuts and strawberries can be farmed while exploring the island, but if you don’t have a Blank Book, you need to craft it. For that, progress through Badtz-maru’s questline to obtain Paper, then use it to make a Blank Book. Hand over each gift to each friend and receive 3x cornerstones.
Return to your base foundation and interact with the signboard to place the cornerstones and complete the quest. You can still receive more cornerstones by gifting other friends on your friends list, then returning the next day to collect the cornerstone item.

The best way to farm cornerstones is to give all your friends three gifts, then use a friendship bouquet to reset the gifts and regift everyone once more. You can easily farm 44 cornerstones per day through this method.
Are there other uses for cornerstones?
While exploring the map, you will find foundations that require repairs using cornerstones. You will also require cornerstones for crafting items in your own home.
What’s the difference between my existing cabin and the new home feature?
There isn’t a lot of difference between the two, but if you wish to personalize and decorate your space more thoroughly, then building a home is beneficial. Do note that your home doesn’t have a fast travel point yet, unlike your cabin.
