Every Fish Type and How to Get
There are 49 total fish in the game, of which 38 are regular fish, and 11 are boss and mini bosses. You need to capture every single fish in the game to complete the fish codex and also use them to earn money. Most fish require just the regular Fishing Rod, except for the Brown Crab, Piranha, Shrimp, Lobster, and Rock Crab.
Crustaceans like these and the Spider Crab boss will require the unique rod called the Crab Fishing Rod to capture them. You can capture the regular fish across all islands, but you will have a better time spawning a particular fish type on the same island where you purchased their particular lure.
Let’s take a look at each lure, which island has them, and what fish they attract. The Angelfish is the only exception to the correlation between the lure and the island, since it requires the Standard Lure from Island 4 but only spawns on Island 5.
