Drip Fishes Explained

On each island in the game, you will notice a strange jackpot contraption. These machines don’t work with coins, but rather by giving them a particular fish type. The fish that you need to look out for is Drip Fish, and you will get notified of them while reeling them in. You don’t require any particular lure for this, as the chances of capturing Drip Fishes are random. Purchase any lure from the store and use it until you get one.

I got a Drip Fish after 10 tries, but it could be more or less for each game. In case your line is caught by a Drip Fish, you will get the notification that says Creature Caught in colorful font. After reeling the fish in, the font and color for the fish’s description will be different from other fish you had caught earlier. You could consume them or feed them to the cashier, but the best use for Drip Fishes is to feed them to the jackpot machine.
Reel of Fortune Explained

After adding a Drip Fish to the Reel of Fortune jackpot machine, it will spin and reveal a random prize. The prizes are usually skins for your weapons, boat, and rod. Each island has a different reward pool, and the only way to know what rewards you can get is to take your time collecting Drip Fish and using them across the islands. Check each jackpot’s screen, as it does mention what item skins you can get.
There is no fixed fish type that will reveal a fixed reward, so each reward you get is random per fish. After obtaining your new skin, you can equip the weapon or rod on your character and press the C/Z keys on the keyboard to change the skin.

No, skins are purely cosmetic, and they don’t add any extra value besides looking aesthetically pleasing.
Are there legendary skins in the game?
Yes, a legendary skin will be indicated by a rainbow coloring on the Reel of Fortune screen. This also helps unlock the Gold, Gold, Gold achievement in the game.

Why doesn’t the skin show up on my weapon/rod/boat?

Is the Reel of Fortune similar to the roulette table?
No, the roulette table in the casino building in Island 4 requires cash to play the game. The Reel of Fortune requires Drip Fishes as tokens. The roulette table will reward players with more cash if they win, but the Reel of Fortune only supplies skins.
