How to Get Portal Pods in Pokémon Pokopia Bubbly Basin DLC

By Kirthana KAugust 6, 20264 Mins Read

    Key Points

    • Portal Pods are the new storage system that allows you to carry items from one region to another.
    • You will require two Portal Pods for this to work, and there are a few ways to get them in the game.
    • You don’t necessarily require the DLC for this, as you can find the Portal Pod in one of the early game areas.

With the new expansion in Pokopia, you will find some new items that will make life much easier. One of those items is the Portal Pod, which allows you to transfer items between vast regions. This is a great way to transport materials and other important items without risking your inventory space.

All Ways to Get Portal Pods

Portal Pods are a great way to store extra items that you don’t have any space for. Plus, you can share items between all your bases, which reduces the travel time to get the material or item from different areas. There are three main ways to get Portal Pods, and you can either get it for free, purchase it, or duplicate it. Let’s take a look at all the ways to get Portal Pods.

Find the Portal Pod Inside the House

There is a mysterious locked house at the edge of Bubbly Basin. This house is located in the northeastern section of the region. To quickly find the house, swim to the surface and make your way to the red ornate tower. From there, look towards the island behind the tower and make your way over there. This island is just past the island that has a house and a jet ski.

While you are near the island, dive under to find an underwater house. Break the door and head inside to find the Portal Pod. If you head down the stairs and explore the rooms on the left, you can find another Portal Pod inside a Pokeball.

Before leaving, I recommend checking out the entire floor to find more treasures. There is a second Pokeball inside a room with glass doors and picking it up will give you the recipe for the Digital Wall. You can also find a Decorative Lure Ball in the same area.

Unlocking the Portal Pod in Palette Town

This is the earliest method of finding the Portal Pod, and you don’t require the DLC for it. For this, you need access to Palette Town, which is located just west of the Withering Wasteland Pokémon Center. The area will initially be blocked off, so use Rock Smash on the boulders to get rid of them. Carry a couple of materials with you to repair a bridge that will help you cross over to Palette Town.

Upon reaching Palette Town, your next task is to increase the Environment Level to level 8. Then, visit the Pokémon Center here after restoring it and access the computer store. Scroll down to find the Portal Pod, which can be purchased for 3,000 coins.

    Duplicating the Portal Pod

After receiving just one Portal Pod, you can place it down and take a picture of it using your camera. You could also take a photo of a friend’s Portal Pod if they have it and if you are playing multiplayer. That way, you don’t need to find a Portal Pod yourself.

While taking a picture, don’t forget to click on the cube icon (Y Key) so it can be used as a reference image. Then, visit the 3D Printer at any Pokémon Center and interact with it. Select the Portal Pod in the options, then check out how many Pokemetal Ingots are required to craft it.

For me, it showed that I required 5x Pokemetal Ingots for 1 Portal Pod, so it could be the same for you too. This is a great way to create an extra Portal Pod and have it set up elsewhere for easy access.

    FAQs

How do I use the Portal Pod?

You need to put down two Portal Pods at different locations. Then, add items within one pod and visit the other pod to pick them up.

Do I need to destroy the Portal Pod to pick it up?

No, you can just pick it up like any other item in the game. Destroying it will not break it down either, so you could do that too.

Can I connect the Portal Pod to the workbench?

Yes, this is a great way to transfer materials from the pod to the workbench if you want to craft items quickly.
