Key Points
- The ranch or barn can be bought from Ridge’s Howling Hammer store for 4000 coins.
- You can add multiple barns throughout your land, as long as you have the required 10×6 space for each barn.
- You can speak to Luna after that to purchase animals to fill your ranch up.
Moonlight Peaks also doubles as a farming simulator, and you can keep animals in your ranch. These animals will drop their own produce and fertilizers for your crops, so it’s quite handy to get them for the extra help they give.

How to Get a Barn

Besides growing crops, you can also house animals in your ranch and use them to get certain goods. First, keep following the main questline until you are led to Ridge’s store, Howling Hammer. If you visit his store between 18:00 and 00:00, you can purchase some building upgrades. In the second tab of the store menu, you will also find the option to purchase a Barn for 4,000 coins.
Before you purchase the barn, don’t make the same mistake I did and not keep any land free for the construction. You will require a 10×6 free space to place the barn. After purchasing the barn, select the space where you want the ranch built, and Ridge will start building it. You can clear more plots and build more barns later on to house more animals, as you can only have 4 animals per barn.
How to Get Animals
The next step is to fill up your ranch with animals. This time, visit Luna and interact with the paddock at her farm to know what animals are up for sale. The animals listed will change every day, so come back frequently to see what you can buy. Below is a list of all animals currently available, their cost, and what they produce.
| Creature | Buy Price | Sell Price | Drops |
| Bumpkin | 12,000 Coins | 9,000 Coins | Plops |
| Cheeken | 1,200 Coins | 900 Coins | Egg / Golden Egg |
| Cowcula | 6,000 Coins | 4,500 Coins | Cowcula Milk |
| Draculamb | 4,500 Coins | 3,400 Coins | Dracuwool / Draculamb Milk |
| Piggoat | 3,500 Coins | 2,600 Coins | Piggoat Milk |
| Rabbicula | 2,800 Coins | 2,100 Coins | Bunny Footprint |
| Stoney | 9,000 Coins | 6,800 Coins | Heart Stone |
Besides supplying food like milk and eggs, all animals will also produce compost. Compost can be used to increase the growth speed of your crops, and different animals will produce different amounts of compost. Cheeken drops the least at just 1 compost, while Cowcula drops 4 compost, which is the max.
How to Feed Animals

At first, it didn’t strike me that my barn animals would require specialized food to feed them. After a bit of experimenting, I realised that they require fodder feed to sustain themselves. First, collect Fiber by clearing out the weeds and rubbish around your land. Then take the fiber to the refiner to get fodder. There are two types of fodder to make: the normal kind and the premium kind.
While normal fodder is made with just 1x fiber, the premium fodder will require 50x fodder and 1x mana essence. Premium fodder will keep the animals full for longer but is difficult to make. While interacting with the fodder stall in the barn, you will be notified of the amount of food still left and how much food is required to keep your animals fed throughout the night.
