Investigate Joshua Pike Quest Guide
There are three main methods to find Joshua once you pick up the Night Out quest. The quest objective entails that you can find him in the upstairs lounge. There are three hints that you will get for the objective, and following these hints will take you to different routes to reach Joshua.
Route #1 – Above and Beyond
Personally, this route was the easiest for me. All I had to do was climb up the stage equipment to reach the upper floor balcony. First, head to the dance floor in the lounge, then go to the back of the room where the bar counter is. You will get a tip to eavesdrop here near the archway, so do that to get more information from the two NPCs near the table.

Then, head over to the DJ stage and make your way to the back of the stage towards the restricted zone. Squeeze through the metal bars on your left and climb up the boxes to reach the stage lights. Continue up and go across the light rigs until you find the window that you can safely jump across to and meet Joshua.
Route #2 – The Stamp

This route might be a bit complicated, as you need to find a stamp to gain access. First, you need to find the whereabouts of this particular stamp. Head over to the dance floor and make your way to the bar. Check the area to the right of the bar to find a woman you can eavesdrop on. You will get the codename Jones to use later on.

Next, head to the area with the bathrooms to find the Stamp counter. Speak to the NPC behind the counter and tell them you are Jones to get the stamp. Or you can steal the stamp by sneaking past the counter and into the doorway. With the stamp in hand, you now have access to the upstairs lounge.
Route #3 – Staff Only

Make a beeline for the bar and enter the restricted area behind the bar counter. An NPC will stop you, and there are two ways to bypass the interaction. You can either use Dart Phone to make them dizzy, or if you have enough Bluff points, you can weasel your way out of the confrontation.
Whatever method you pick, enter the staff room and make your way to the back stairs. Go up and go through the double doors on your left and continue further up to find the upstairs lounge entryway on your right.
Investigating Joshua
Now that you have reached the upstairs lounge, follow the quest marker to find Joshua. You don’t have to speak to him, but keep a fair distance and use your Q-Watch to start the hacking process. He will start moving away, so keep a tab on him and follow him around. Eventually, you will be stopped by the lady in the red dress from earlier, so pick either of the dialogue options to quickly get around her.
Unfortunately, Joshua will enter another restricted area, and the only way to gain access is to get past the bouncer. You could either use the Dart Phone to take out the guard or grab the tray of drinks on the table beside the restricted area’s entrance. This will give you access to the area beyond, where you can continue hacking his phone and complete the quest.
FAQs
Are there any other ways to reach the upstairs lounge?
The only other method that isn’t mentioned in the quest objectives is to use your tools to get past the guards upstairs. You can use the Dart Phone on one of the guards, then pick up the Chemical near the NPC who gave the hint about the Jones stamp. Use the Chemical on the second guard to take him out and gain access to the upper lounge.
Which is the easiest route I should take to reach the upper lounge?
Most of the above routes are quite easy to follow. If you are having a hard time, use the tracking option within the quest menu to help you figure out what to do next.
I’ve accidentally bumped into Joshua. What do I do?
Joshua won’t really care who you are and will continue to be oblivious to your antics. You could even strike up a conversation with him, as he doesn’t know who you are.
