Crimson Desert – How to get Brimstone                      

Since Crimson Desert’s map is so vast, it is easy to miss some key locations to help you farm important items. If you are looking for Brimstone, there is a specific location where you can farm it. Before you trek over there, you need to figure out the best way to reach this location and also familiarize yourself with what you are looking for.​

How to Gain Brimstone Gas Immunity​

Brimstone is a harmful substance that releases toxic gas. Since you can’t get near it without protection, you need to obtain a Gas Mask first. I got my hands on a gas mask for free while exploring Byron Estate’s Burnhand Quarry. You will find this location in the northern section of Demeniss. Upon reaching the Quarry, head east to find an abandoned shack. Check the outer area to find a Brimstone Gas Mask on a wooden stump. ​

How to Farm Brimstone​

One confirmed location where Brimstone is easy to farm is at Deadfire Mountain in Demeniss. There is an Abyss Nexus to the southwest of Hexe Sanctuary and north of Denn River. From the Abyss Nexus, head east while avoiding the orange-marked territory. Start your climb up the mountain and keep going up towards the Brimstone Lake Watchtower. ​

Look for Hex Brimstone Crabs in yellow gas. Notice the steam in the gas clouds. Use your weapon to stab the ground at steam vents to trigger large crab spawns. ​Defeat the crab enemy, and they will drop a handful of Brimstones. There are a few more crab spawns in the area, so walk around to find gas spawns and farm Brimstones from the crabs.​

Non-Lethal Way to Farm Brimstone​

If you don’t want to fight these crab enemies, there is a longer, more complex method to farm Brimstone. Check around the same area for steam emitting from towering rocks. These rocks will have a couple of small openings on them that emit steam. Equip the Force Palm and Healing Force Palm abilities in your skill slots first.

Then, walk over to one of the vents where the steam is coming from and aim your Force Palm skill at it. Hold down the trigger for this skill and complete the Force Palm action. ​Once that skill is used up, use Healing Force Palm.

I had to repeat the Healing Force Palm action a few times until the smoke disappeared from the vent. Then, I repeated the above two abilities on the next nearby vent on the rocky formation until that vent closed up too. This left the last open vent release all the excess steam, which brings us to the last step.

​Aim at the final vent and use Nature’s Snare on it to collect all the Brimstone smoke. You need to hold down this skill until all the smoke around the area has disappeared. In its place, you will find a glowing orb. Once ready, press the Unleash trigger to dispel the orb, which will drop several Brimstones around you.​

How to Use Brimstone​

Brimstone is a necessary material that is required to craft Gold Bars. Besides 3x Brimstone, you will also require:

• 3x Mercury
• 10x Silver Ore

Visit any of the Witches and hand over the items to craft a Gold Bar. Gold Bars can be given to the bank and get 500 Silver in return. You could also hold on to the Gold Bar to craft Platinum Bars, which can be sold for 380 Silver.​

Yes, the Brimstone Crabs will respawn after a few in-game days, so check back frequently to farm Brimstone.​

I can’t use Nature’s Snare ability. What do I do?​

This is a common bug if using a controller, and the only way to bypass this bug is to plug in your controller to your console or system using a USB cable and then using it to trigger the skill.​

I can’t access this area. What do I do?​

This area is accessible after completing Chapter 9. Follow through the main story quests until you get access to the mountains.
