Where Winds Meet: Lost Crossing – All Encounter Locations

The Hexi Update in Where Winds Meet gives you two encounters to locate and complete in the Lost Crossing. The Last Pilgrim will be a much easier encounter to complete, but Mysterious IOU is filled with deductive objectives. Prepare to spend a good amount of time completing both encounters.

You can expect to engage in some minor battles while completing the encounter. Both encounters give out a healthy amount of rewards and a weapon at the very end.

The Last Pilgrim

You will find the encounter directly north of the Camel Station boundary stone or landmark point, or heading west from the Karez boundary stone in Hexi. Both boundary stones or fast travel points are found north of the Hexi region.

Here you will see an NPC named Eastbound Monk with a white horse in the middle of the desert. Talk to him and then advance to the next day at Wu hour.

Defeat Bandits, Retrieve the Loot

The next day, you will find him in a new spot, south of the Camel Station boundary stone. Just follow the objective marker to get to the spot. The monk will talk about a bandit stealing his items from him.

Follow the new objective marker to find and defeat the bandits, and you will recover four items from their corpses: Sutra of Ten Grounds x1/ Relic Casket x1/Sutra of Merit Transfer x1/Sutra of Ten Powers x1.

Give the items back to the Monk to finish the objective. Then wait for the next day at Wu hour to spawn him in the same area.

Start a Fire and End conversation

You will find him near the bonfire without clothes. Our task is to get the branches to start a fire for him. You will find the item at the tree near his location. Start the fire and extend the conversation to complete the objective.

Now again, wait till the next day to spawn him again on the map. He will be found west from Outside Whitecrown boundary stone.

You will find him lying on the sand. Hand him some water to help him continue his journey. Next time, you will find him inside the fortress, east of Outside Whitecrown.

That’s it, talk to him one last time to complete his encounter.

Reward: Echo Jade x50, Hexi Exploration x50, Coin 22,500, Stored Exp 22,500, and Heart Begates All x1 (Hair Ornament).

Mysterious IOU

Travel to the Karez boundary stone north of the Hexi region. Now we have to interact with three specific items near the Karez boundary stone to start this encounter. These items are: Unparalleled Treasure, Unparalleled Manual (Note), and Unparalleled Wine.

Unparalleled Treasure

Head south from the Karez boundary stone, and you will find an item hidden inside the grass. You will have the option to open a Signpost, named Unparalleled Treasure.

Unparalleled Manual

You will find the manual on the storage boxes near the dancing folks at the Karez boundary stone.

Unparalleled Wine

Head to the dried-up large tree near the Karez boundary stone to get the wine spot. Interact with the wine to whiff it.

After taking the whiff of the wine, the Mysterious IOU encounter will begin. And you will get an objective marker to talk to the physician about the quest. You will get the IOU Note, Sanniang Debt Slip IV, from the NPCs.

Now you will need to follow the objective marker and hand over the IOU Note I to Monk Youtong to get to the next phase of the quest. After the conversation, you will be tasked to find two items:

• IOU Note I
• IOU Note II
• IOU Note III

Each note will reveal the details of the creditors that we will find in the area near the Karez boundary stone.

IOU Note I, II, and III Locations

IOU Note I: You will find the IOU Note I near the half-submerged green flag, north of Wayfarer Jade Gate Pass landmark. After you pick up the note, it will be renamed “Sanniang’s Debt Slip I.”

Bandit Location

IOU Note II: Travel south of Camel Station to get to the next objective marker. Here, eavesdrop and steal (Celestial Seize) the IOU Note from the bandits, and you will get “Sanniang’s Debt Slip II.”

IOU Note III: Travel to Outside Whitecrown, and you will find the last IOU Note III near the boundary stone.

Reading all the Sanniang’s Debt Slip notes will give us details of all the creditors: Yi Shisan, Hu Nu’er, and Tang Qi.

Finding the Creditors

Yi Shisan: Sitting on the rooftop of a building near the Karez boundary stone.

Hu Nu’er: Blacksmith inside the building near the Karez boundary stone. You can’t miss, since he will be working the anvil inside.

Tang Qi: He is a common merchant near the camel at the Karez boundary stone.

Follow the objective to meet with Monk Youtong and bury all the IOU notes in the ground to complete the encounter.
