Key Points
- Sandstorm Lord is located at the final boss arena of the Desert map, which unlocks after beating the Swamp map.
- You must beat Risk Level one to five to unlock Risk Level 6 on Desert.
- Defeating Sandstorm Lord drops Mythic sets, Pact, and Corruption Crystals.
- Sandstorm Lord is notorious for its projectile maneuver, which will easily catch the player off guard.
The boss is notoriously difficult due to its variety of attacks and the pace of the transition between them. The devastating projectile attack to its chain grab, Sandstorm Lord is relentless from the beginning to the very end. The key to the battle will rely on the movement speed and Tactical damage dealing to eliminate the boss quickly in R.I.P Reincarnation Insurance Program.
R.I.P. – Reincarnation Insurance Program: Sandstorm Lord Overview
| Boss | Sandstorm Lord |
| Difficulty Level | Very Hard |
| Attacks | Projectile Focused |
| Map | Desert |
When you are playing on Risk Level 6, prepare to receive more damage and a large boss bar that feels never-ending. The boss has many attacks, and the pace of some of the attacks is deadly if you get caught. I died a couple of times before figuring out a way to defeat him.
Gear Details
- All Mythic Set: One thing to note, I prioritized Tactical damage, cooldown, and range above anything else.
- Skill Priority: Anything Tactical and Movement Speed Bonus. Tactical will be the ultimate damage dealer, and Movement speed will keep you on your toes during the fight.
- Divine Pact Used:
- Divine Contract: Explosion: Explosion “Heavy Artillery” damage 25% with 10% critical chance.
- Divine Contract: Vengeance Pact: 33% chance of deflecting the incoming projectile/ After taking a melee hit, deal 30% for 5 seconds.
- Divine Contract: Dominion Pact – Summons a walking android drone to fight alongside you.
If you want to know more about Pact and where exactly to farm and hunt them, do take a look at the guide for more details.
Here, I relied on the Heavy Artillery Explosion Tactical Skill to carry me through the battle. The android drone from Dominion Pact was used as a distraction to keep the boss’s line of sight off me. And lastly, the Vengeance Pact was used to deflect incoming projectiles.
You don’t need to get your hands on all of them; just settle for the Explosion Heavy Artillery pact or Lightning Magnetic Storm pact to deal most of the damage. Tactical damage is very deadly against the boss, as it can be fired from any location, as long as you boost all skills related to Tactical damage dealing.
R.I.P Reincarnation Insurance Program – Sandstorm Lord Moveset
Here we will take a look at all the Sandstorm Lord Bosses and the best way to avoid them.
Projectile Attack A:

This attack has Sandstorm Lord spraying projectiles from right to left, in a moving manner. The best defence here is to let go of the firing button and move between the gaps of the projectiles to dodge them.
Another helpful tip here is to stay further away from the boss; the projectile concentration is higher near the boss, so you will have little movement to maneuver. Staying far away from the boss gives you a good amount of gap between projectiles for you to move and stay relatively safe.
Set the Tactical skill or grenade to autofire mode, so you will be able to hit the boss from far away without engaging with the weapon firing. Firing from the weapon limits your movement, which is deadly in this scenario.
Projectile Attack B:

Instead of moving style, the second projectile attack hits directly at your location. The same rule as the first attack: stop firing, navigate between the gaps of the projectile to avoid taking any hits.
Again, staying far from the boss can help you navigate between the gaps of principles easily.
Homing missiles

These missiles will come from the top, leaving a red circle on the ground indicating their projected hitting spot. Again, just start moving in any direction to avoid the attack. Don’t engage with any gunfire, or you will easily get caught in the circle.
Use the red circle of the missiles as an indicator to know about the missiles’ spots. Moving is the only way to avoid getting caught in this attack.
Single Homing Missile
The boss will drop a single missile, but unlike other attacks, this one will always happen in the middle of different attacks. The giveaway for this attack is the red circle on the ground.
When you are dodging any of Sandstorm Lord’s attacks, if you see a giant glowing red spot on the ground, move out of the way. The attack is designed to catch you off guard when you are focused on one of the boss’s attacks.
Melee Attack
If you do get close to the boss, it will launch its melee attack, but the range here is small, easily avoidable with a simple dodge.
Chain Grab

You will see a red arrow-like indicator in a straight line, heading in your direction; this implies the chain grab attack. If the boss pulls you with its chain, then it will launch a follow-up slam attack to deal devastating damage.
While the slam attack is deadly, the Chain Grab move also deals a good amount of damage to the player. The best thing to do is to avoid getting caught in the chain grab line of sight. If you do get caught, don’t worry, you can still dodge the follow-up slam attack.
Laser Strike

The last deadly maneuver of Sandstorm Lord is the laser attack, an AoE attack that deals a good amount of damage. While the damage it deals to the player is decent, the repetition of the attack is what makes this move dangerous.
The boss will perform the laser attack three to four times, one after another, without any breaks. Another deadly fact about this attack is the pace or speed of the animation; it’s fast.
The best tactic is to stay close to the boss; the laser attack covers more ground if you are further from the boss, leaving little to no room for dodge unless you are good at executing perfect dodge.
But if you are staying close to the Sandstorm Lord, once the laser attack begins, just dodge to the left or right to avoid it quickly. If you are far away from the boss, then you must rely on perfect dodge to get you out of trouble. While staying far from the boss gives you a good amount of gap between lasers, the speed of the laser attack makes it a bit difficult to perform a dodge or any movement.
FAQs
How difficult is Sandstorm Lord in Risk Level 6 compared to Risk Level 5?
Sandstorm Lord gets Boss Ailment Resist: +90% and Boss HP Boost: +700% at Risk Level 6. While at Risk Level 5, the boss had Boss Ailment Resist: +75% and Boss HP Boost: +300%. We are looking at double the HP boost and good Ailment resistance, making them the toughest fights in the R.I.P Reincarnation Insurance Program.
Should I use Divine Pact before fighting the Sandstorm Lord at Risk Level 6?
Yes, definitely, or you will have a stressful time taking him out. You can try to kill him without any Pact fusion with the gear, but you will miss out on a lot of damage dealing, among other benefits. Getting Pacts and infusing them in the gear should be the first choice before facing down any boss at Risk Level 6.
Should I farm Mythic Gear for the Sandstorm Lord?
Mythic gear comes with 1 extra skill (One more than Legendary), from raising critical hits to adding ricochet to weapons. Missing out on these extra skills will severely handicap your gameplay experience going into the fight. Farm for pacts and Mythic gear on Headhunt Assault to get the best gear in the game.
