How to Get and Use the Dirty Key
- Head over to the Hoji Shrine fast travel point after unlocking the Tenryu River.
- From there, head east towards the Six Jizo statue and go further east to find the village.
- Walk around until you spot a yokai called Yamainu.
- Defeat Yamainu to collect the Dirty Key.
- To use the Dirty Key, you need to go further east to find a lone house at the outskirts of the village.
- This house will have a burning campfire right in front of it.
- Once you find it, walk up to the large double doors to use the Dirty Key.
- Inside the house, open the chest at the corner of the room to get the Secret Skill Tree Text: Armor Piercer, along with random loot.

What’s the best way for me to defeat Yamainu?
Use your Assassinate ability while sneaking up behind the yokai to land some starting damage. Keep peppering it with Ninjutsu from a distance. The Ninja stance is your best bet to defeat Yamainu, as a lot of its attacks end with its back exposed. Don’t rush or overextend, though, it can wipe you out with a couple of swipes.
How do I reach the Tenryu River?
You will reach the Tenryu River as part of the main storyline. This region is located north of Tokaido, and the fast travel point to reach here is Hoji Shrine.
