Doorknob Know-How Quest Guide
Earlier in the game, a mysterious guest would have handed over a doorknob without any explanation. As you ponder what to do with it, Chococat and the others will hold a discussion about it near the Drafting Table. Make your way over there and listen to what they all have to say to unlock the Doorknob Know-How quest.
With Chococat’s help, he will explain that the doorknob can be used to create Pocket Room Doors and Pocket Room Stairs to add extra rooms to your home. If you visit your drafting table, you will get a new option to create these special rooms. Now all you need to do is visit your home or cabin and select the Edit option.
You will also receive some new blueprints from Chococat in your mailbox, but he will warn you that the new expansion to your home will have some limitations, so use them with caution. You can then interact with the drafting table to find the new items that are ready to craft. You will get the blueprint for a new doorway or a new flight of stairs.
Using the Doorknob
The doorknob is a requirement for creating either a new doorway or a new flight of stairs. If you have selected the doorway, then you can place a door on an existing wall inside your home to make a large room. This room can be used for anything and decorated like a normal room in your home.
As for the stairs, this will help you unlock a new upstairs area in your home altogether. You need to make sure that the top of the stairs leans against the wall for this to work. Then, you can customize your new upstairs room and even change the floor plan according to what you wish to create.
