Palia’s new quest will have you running around to find ingredients for Taylin. The quest itself isn’t too complicated, and you can quickly complete it once you know where to look for the items required. This will take up some time but is easily doable.

How to Start the Hair of the Beast Quest
The Fall’s Faire: Petals & Portraits has a new questline you can pick up after talking to Taylin in Kilima. You need to travel to E8, just west of the Mayor’s Estate and east of Reflection Fields. Head inside the Apothecary and speak to Taylin here. You will find Taylin with Chayne here, and you can catch a glimpse of their conversation. Chayne will be advising Taylin to take it easy, after which he will leave you two alone.
During your conversation with Taylin, you will get several dialog options from time to time. After Taylin gives a warm welcome, you will get four dialog options. I picked the option to hand over snacks, but you can pick any other to learn more about what had transpired between Chayne and Taylin. Then, I picked the option to help her when she mentioned that she was on bed rest. This will start the Hair of the Beast quest.
How to Complete the Hair of the Beast Quest
You need to gather 3 different ingredients to create a concoction for Taylin. The items you need to find and collect are:
- 1x Dart Eel
- 1x Royal Wisteria
- 1x Shadvaraak Beetle
Let’s start off with the Dart Eel, since this is the most difficult item to get. You need to go fishing at night, between 9 PM and 3 AM. I used Glow Worm bait to lure the Dart Eel, and it took several tries to get one on the hook. Luckily, there are no fixed spawn areas for them, so you can go fishing in any body of water to get them.
Next up are the Royal Wisteria and Shadvaraak Beetle. I found both of them in the Royal Highlands. The best place I recommend heading over to is the Royal Hunting Grounds. Royal Wisteria grows quite frequently here, and the rocky terrain is the perfect home for the Shadvaraak Beetle. Luckily, you need just one of each to complete this part of the quest.
After collecting everything, head back to Taylin and speak to her. Hand over all the materials to end the quest.

Taylin can be found in Elderwood after completing the quest, specifically at the Central Staples. You need to visit the area in the evening to find her.
Are there other places where the Royal Wisteria and Shadvaraak Beetles spawn?
No, these two items in particular are exclusive to the Royal Highlands region, so you can’t find them anywhere else.
Taylin does not appear in the Apothecary; what do I do?
You need to update and complete all pending quests to find this one. If the quest still doesn’t appear, restarting the game would help.
