Key Points
- This choice occurs when you try to fight Marchosias a second time at the Fallen Temple.
- There are no consequences for the choice you make here.
- You will also get the same rewards, just that the indoctrinate option will run you through a couple of more dialogs before this happens.
During some of the boss fights in Cult of the Lamb: Woolhaven, you would have to make a choice to either sacrifice them or indoctrinate them. So far, you could make this choice with the Executioner, but later on, you will also get this choice after the second battle with the Marchosias. The choice you make here will not hamper your game’s progress or cause lasting consequences.

Cult of the Lamb – Marchosias Overview

| Location | Fallen Temple (Second encounter) |
| Region | Ewefall, Woolhaven |
| Difficulty | Hard |
| Species | Wolf |
Choice #1 – Sacrifice Marchosias
After defeating Marchosias, if you choose to sacrifice him, he will be grateful for your choice and will readily kill himself. In return, you will get the following rewards.
- Heart of a Heretic.
- Halfheart upgrade.
- Killer Instinct achievement.
- Random follower form.
- Random amount of gold.
Choice #2 – Indoctrinate Marchosias
When you pick the option to indoctrinate Marchosias the first time, Marchosias will refuse. The choices will reappear a second time, and if you still pick to indoctrinate him, he will continue to defy you. If you pick this option the third time, Marchosias will sacrifice himself to get away, which will end the sequence. You will receive the same rewards as listed above.
Best Choice
There is no right or wrong choice to make here, as all choices will lead to one outcome. Personally, I didn’t want to indoctrinate Marchosias, so I chose to sacrifice him from the get-go. But you are free to select the Indoctrinate option to view the extra dialogs between him and Lamb.

FAQs
Will I get the same rewards regardless of choosing to indoctrinate or sacrifice Marchosias?
Yes, both options will give you the same rewards, so you won’t miss out on anything.
Is there any way to indoctrinate Marchosias?
Marchosias clearly does not want to be controlled by a God, so you cannot indoctrinate him no matter what.
How is the difficulty of the Marchosias boss fight?
The boss fight is relatively hard the second time, so it is best to unlock and use legendary weapons here if you have them.
