How to Complete The Voices in The Air in Where Winds Meet
While hauntingly beautiful and filled with wondrous graphics, the Voices in the Air is a notoriously finicky quest. Many players have reported some bugs that prevent them from completing it. I have spent hours meditating in the Flower Fields, and I have the perfect solution for you! Just follow these steps to complete this encounter quest:
- Teleport to the underground point in Moonlake Passage in Verdant Wilds.
- Travel inside the cave and locate the glowing tree.
- Pick up the Moonlit Flower Seed from the glowing flower.
- Travel to the Blissful Retreat flower field.
- Change your in-game time to the Zi Hour (midnight).
- Look for the glowing blue ring on the ground, which usually appears on the eastern edge of the flower field.
- Interact with the ring to plant the seed.
- Approach the manifested glowing hut.
- Interact with the first luminous signpost to begin.
- Follow the path created by glowing lanterns and boats across the dreamscape of invisible bridges.
- Touch every new luminous signpost you come across to manifest further invisible bridges towards the Tower.
- Follow the luminous Stag that manifests after you touch the last luminous signpost.
- Continue following the Stag through the magical forest of red-leafed trees until you reach the Wuyou Sheng and Zixuzi.
- Listen to the dialogue between Wuyou and Zixuzi (cutscene) until the screen turns white and you are back once again in the flower field.
Important things to keep in mind
- The Moonlit Flower Seed is unmarked on the map and spawns randomly, so you must manually search the entire base of the glowing tree. Unlike the main story items, there’s no golden pillar that will point you to it. It shouldn’t be hard, as you will be able to see a prompt to ‘Investigate‘. Pressing that will result in picking the seed up.
- I have noticed that the glowing ring for planting the seed has a random trigger. It doesn’t always appear at midnight. If you can’t find it straight away, I recommend leaving the area, completing some other side quest, and returning to the flower field the following night.
- If the blue ring doesn’t appear for you, even after a few in-game nights of trying, use this trick I found: Teleport to a nearby town the next night, rather than teleporting straight to the Blassful Retreat.
- I strongly recommend completing ‘Melodies of Peace‘ and ‘Blind to the World‘ side quests before attempting The Voices in the Air quest. ‘Blind to the World’ quest will give you the exact location of the cave in Moonlake Passage, making it easier to find the seed.
- Many players who have had trouble planting the seed have reported that completing Melodies of Peace before attempting this quest has made it easier for the glowing blue ring to appear. If you are having trouble locating the ring and think it isn’t spawning, just complete Melodies of Peace first!
- Do not keep fidgeting with your in-game clock if you can’t find the blue ring for planting the seed to trigger Zi Hour. I have found it is better to set the time to Zi Hour in the Moonlake Passage before you arrive at Blissful Retreat, as it has a high chance of the ring spawning.
