Luma Island finally has the Summer Update, and to help you out, you have Dave the Diver on your island. Dave will introduce you to a whole new area that will unlock new possibilities later on. But first, you need to help him cross over to the new island and help with other smaller tasks too.

How to Find Dave the Diver
Dave the Diver is the newest character to grace Luma Island. As part of the Summer Update, you can finally meet this crossover character and pick up a new quest. But first, you need to find Dave the Diver. I found Dave at the shoreline of the Town. If you are having a hard time, I have also included a map above.
Dave the Diver Quest Guide
Once you make your way to the shoreline, you will find Dave in his iconic scuba suit. Speak to him and he will ask you if you have a small boat. The boat in question is the broken boat that is overturned nearby. You need to repair it using 3x Farm Planks, and 3x Farm Color.
If you click on the Damaged Rowboat, you will find the items required to repair it. If you click on each item on the list, it will show you where you can get these items. But first, you need to have the required workbenches to craft the items. For the planks, you need the Saw Mill, while the Farm Color requires the Simple Workbench.
How to Get Farm Color and Farm Planks
Next, you need to gather the required materials to craft the above two items. You should collect Farm Wood by chopping down Farm Trees using the axe, then pass them through the Saw Mill to get Farm Planks. As for Farm Color, you need to collect Farm Berries.
You can purchase Farm Berries from the Witch’s Store in the Town area, or find them while scavenging. Pass the berry through the Workbench to collect Farm Color. You will require three of each, so farm the necessary resources to get the materials.
Repairing the Boat and Visiting Spicy Rock
Interact with the Damaged Rowboat to fix it. Interact with Dave again and he will ask you to visit Spicy Rock with him. After landing on the new island, Dave will ask you to fish here. But you need to find some bait first. For that, you need to find some Heavy Metal. You can find some Lead Rocks in the eastern part of the island, beside a blue chest.
Mine the rocks normally to collect Heavy Metal, then return to Dave to hand them over. He will mention that there is some Ocean Spice hidden in a chest underwater, and to attach the Heavy Metal to your fishing rod to get it out. In the distance, near the shipwreck, you will spot an area with yellow bubbles. Cast your line over there with the Heavy Metal as bait to pull up the crate with the Ocean Spice.
Collect the Fishes
Your next task after talking to Dave the Diver again is to get three types of fishes. Namely, you need to find three fishes each of the following:
- 3x Cinnamon Carp
- 3x Chili Cod
- 3x Pepperfin
Next, look at the water to find the shadows of the fishes, then cast your line using the Ocean Spice as bait this time. Lure the fish to your bait to capture it. Along with the fish, you might also get more Ocean Spice bait.
Find Dave’s Missing Flipper
Speak to Dave after collecting all the fishes, after which he will tell you that he is missing a flipper. The flipper in question is inside the mouth of the giant clam on the eastern section of the island. This is the same location where you originally got Heavy Metal. But this time, instead of the mineral, you will find a giant clam chewing on the flipper.
Equip the Ocean Spice in your hotbar, then interact with the clam. You will get the notification to Put Ocean Spice in it, and this will make it spit out the flipper and you will also get a Farm Pearl. Return to Dave one last time and hand over the flipper to complete the quest.

Why can’t I find Dave the Diver?
Make sure you have updated the game and completed all prior quests, then check your quest log to find the Dave the Diver quest.
Dave won’t talk to me, what do I do?
In case you have spoken to him initially, then you need to complete any task that he has given you. You can check your quest log for the task, or look at the pop up on the top right corner to know what to do.
I’ve run out of bait and can’t fish anymore, what do I do?
In case you have run out of bait, you can revisit the area the next day to fish out more bait from the ocean.
