How to Start the Mixing It Up Quest
The Mixing It Up side quest can be found in the new Liones Northern Front region. You might need to progress through the questline a bit more to find this quest in your quest log. If you can’t find it, progress some more until you have unlocked the Donhard’s Elixir quest, after which you can track the quest and head over to the required location.
You will find a marked location on the map, where you will find the Donhard gang leader, Sosar. Speaking to her will start the Mixing It Up quest, and the quest objective simply states to cook a Protein Bug Skewer. You will require 1x grub, 1x small meat, and 1x root or vegetable.
Cooking a Protein Bug Skewer
You should be having small meat and vegetables in abundance by now. If not, I found it easily by kill some small animals like Chipmunks, weasels, and squirrels to farm small meat. As for vegetables, I could also find them in the overworld randomly during exploration. You just need one of each, and there is no specification on the meat or vegetable to get.
The hardest of the three ingredients to find is grubs, but there is a way to get them. Go to your Bag and select the Others option. Select the Grub icon here, then select the Gathering option under Source. This will show you all marked locations where the bug can possibly spawn, making it easier to just visit the location and collect it.
Once ready, head over to any cooking station in the overworld or at your own cooking station. Select the Protein Bug Skewer recipe from the list and add all the ingredients. Collect the item and hand it over to Sosar to complete the quest.

No, you can collect them similar to any other resource in the game.

Another popular creature to use here is ladybugs, and they spawn in abundance around Liones and Fairy King’s Forest.
I can’t find Sosar, what do I do?
Restarting the game will fix any missing NPCs, so do just that to have Sosar spawn in again.
Can I consume Protein Bug Skewer?
Yes, if consumed, you will get the following effect:
- Restores HP by 28% + 3570.
- Increases Magic Charging Efficiency by 12% for all allied heroes. Lasts 600 seconds.
