    Barony – How to Heal

    By Kirthana KJune 30, 2026Updated:June 30, 20264 Mins Read

    Key Points

    • There are different ways to heal, but the most common is to consume food and drink and wait for health to regenerate.
    • If you find a shop, you can purchase consumables like health potions and bottles of water.
    • Learning to fight or sneak around will also help keep your HP in check.

Barony isn’t just a typical roguelike RPG. You need to plan your strategy in advance, so you don’t waste resources or health. If you are losing health in a level, you might need to backtrack and find more efficient ways to keep your HP in check.

    All Ways to Heal

While your health does regenerate over time, it isn’t the fastest way to heal when your health is way below average. To keep your automatic health regeneration option on, turn on the Hunger setting under the Misc settings option. Otherwise, if this option is off, then you will require food to help you heal.

    Healing Consumables

You will find various types of food and other consumable types during exploration or whenever you find a shop. If you are lucky enough to find a shop, check their wares to find normal water, blessed water, and health potions. Normal water is the weakest healing item, which just heals +1 HP per bottle.

Blessed water, on the other hand, offers +10 HP, but is also quite expensive to buy. Health potions are the best to fill up to max HP, but are quite rare to find. Besides this, keep an eye out for food like bottles of booze, bread, apples, and meat. These will give you varying amounts of healing, but can be found for free during exploration.

    Knowing When to Fight

Barony is all about learning how to navigate levels a lot more efficiently. While it could be tempting to take enemies head-on, you will take a hit on your health. Sneaking and stealth will be your friends most of the time, and this is a great way to keep your health intact. Conserving your health is the best way to heal if you have run out of consumables, and you can focus on regenerating your health automatically.

    Picking your Class

Some classes have a better time at healing themselves than others. Classes like the Healer or the ones that can use healing spells will have a better time at improving the upkeep of their health. There is also a spell that can help convert MP to HP in a pinch if you require large amounts of health quickly.

Also, using ranged classes and ranged attacks instead of melee is a great way to conserve HP while not taking hits yourself. But if you are a melee player, then you need to know when to attack, dodge, or parry efficiently. Using charged attacks and hitting the enemy first before backing away is the best way to not take damage.

    FAQs

How do I heal in co-op?

Healing in co-op is the same as solo; you need to use consumables, spells, or wait for your health to regenerate.

How do I revive in co-op?

After death, the only way to revive fallen teammates is if all surviving members make it to the next floor successfully. You can get your items back if your surviving teammates had carried your Death Box to the next level, but this option can be disabled in the settings so you get to keep your items even in death.

Can the water fountain heal me?

Yes, drinking from the water fountain can give you some health back, but finding water fountains is even rarer than finding health potions and consumables.
