Getting the Floatie Rod

The Floatie Rod is part of the Fischfest event, so you need to unlock the portal at Moosewood teleport to Fischfest Island. You will find the portal near the leaderboard area. You can also use the Magic Conch obtainable after clearing 50% of the FishFest Bestiary. Using the Magic Conch will also teleport you to the island.
Once you reach the island, head over to the beach to find Competitive Carter. Speak to him to pick up his quest called A Worthy Competitor. There are three task objectives for the quest:
- Win 3 jetski races or finish one under 2 minutes.
- Reach a 25+ score in a game of beach volleyball.
- Win 5 sandcastle contests.
You need to meet the requirements against all three minigames to get the Floatie Rod.
Win 3 Jetski Races.

Speak to the Jet Ski Referee at the pier nearby and select any available jet ski for the race. All jetskies will have the same stats, so it won’t matter what you pick. Once you are ready, start the race and get in the water. Now, we need to win 3 races under 1:30, or win one race under 2 minutes. I chose to complete three rounds, and this is how I did it.
- First, enter a private server that has very few people to avoid lag.
- Start the race and wait for the boost meter to fill up. Once it’s full, use it and zip across.
- Keep using boosts as soon as they are ready to avoid falling behind.
- The next step is to find a shortcut once you go past the stone archway as part of the race.
- Ride until you reach the waterfall, but don’t go through it.
- Rather, take a sharp right beside the waterfall to quickly reach the other side of the race and complete one round. Repeat this two more times to win.
Return to the Jet Ski Referee to unlock the Fischfest Ski and complete one of the tasks.
Win Beach Volleyball
This one is pretty easy to do, as long as you have a friend to play with. Speak to the Beach Volleyball Referee to start a game, then get around 30 points on the scoreboard to win. You could ask your friend to stay idle while you take the winning shots. Speak to the Volleyball Referee if you have met the requirement of 30 points to get the Beach Ball Rod.
Win 5 Sandcastle Contests.

Speak to the sandcastle referee to start up this mini game. Playing against AI will be easier to navigate, but you could play against friends, too. All you need to do here is memorise the sandcastle blueprint that appears on screen, then use the building blocks to build a replica of the blueprint.
If you score higher than the AI or a friend, then you win. For the game, I recommend building the walls first, followed by the pillars, and then adding the smaller details. This will give you +90 accuracy and win the round. After meeting the requirements of all 3 minigames, return to Competitive Carter and unlock the Floatie Rod.
