Key Points
- You need to help the Tomasso Guard Captain find the thief who stole all the melons.
- This will require you to make the right choices during the interrogation.
- Doing so will deduce the culprit to be Marrow.
Some NPC interactions in Crimson Desert requires careful choices. Picking the wrong answers can send you in circles. Therefore, telling the characters what they want to hear is essential to progress in these quests. Specifically, once you reach Tashkalp, you will encounter a worried guard who seeks answers regarding the melon theft in the desert. This sets the stage for the investigation.

How to Complete the Harvest of Greed Quest

While exploring in the Crimson Desert, you can pick up a commission in the village of Tashkalp. If you head a bit south, you will step into Redsand Farm. If you can’t find the location, you can track this quest under the Crimson Desert Commission tab. After reaching this location, I had to walk around for a while until I spotted a guard mumbling to himself about catching a thief.
Deciding that I would help him, I stepped up to get the Investigative Log: Harvest of Greed quest item. The Tommaso Guard Captain asked me to speak to Hajiv, the farm owner, first to learn more about the thieves who stole the melons. Hajiv isn’t too far from the guard’s location, so speak to him to ask him about the suspects.
Investigate the Suspects

After speaking to Hajiv, head east of the melon patch, where you will find the slaves’ living area. Find Luam, an NPC with an exclamation mark overhead, among the group. Speaking to Luam provides a clue to locate Padir next. Head further east to find Padir, and speaking to him leads you to Marrow, Trenton, and Nasir.
Marrow is found in the Tommaso Fork Posthouse area to the very north of the village, while Trenton and Nasir are found around the houses to the north, not too far from Padir’s location. After speaking to all of them, return to the Tommaso guard captain to tell him about the findings.
Unraveling Clues
It’s time to inform the captain about who you think has stolen the melons. If you paid attention to the conversations with the suspects, then you would have highlighted some key points during the dialogs. However, in case you have zipped through the conversation and have no clue, here’s how I answered the captain’s questions (correctly!).
| Question | Answer |
| What did the farmer Hajiv say? | The guards never leave the warehouse unprotected. |
| Then we have Luam. Did he mention anything? | Marrow and Padir were often seen speaking in front of the warehouse at dawn. |
| So what did Padir have to say? | Lately, Marrow has been coming to the tavern often and buying me drinks to thank me. |
| And Nasir, did he give you anything? | They found wagon wheel tracks, but Padir got drunk during his shift. |
| What did Marrow have to say? | He goes out late every night to pick up alcohol and comes back in the morning. |
| Then the last was Trenton, what did he say? | He saw someone pulling a cart in front of the warehouse at dawn. |
After completing the discussion, the possible culprits will be narrowed down to one: Marrow. You need to nab him before he escapes. Head far east of the village towards the marked location to find him about to sell the melons to a stranger. Tie him up and carry him on your horse back to the guard captain to complete the quest.
