Windrose – How to Get & Use Guns

By Kirthana KFebruary 24, 20263 Mins Read

    Key Points

    • Besides melee weapons, you also get to craft or find guns to kill enemies from a distance.
    • Using guns will require bullets and gunpowder.
    • You can upgrade your weapons at the workbench to make them stronger.

Windrose offers a unique combat experience, where you need to defend yourself on land and at sea. At the start of the game, you will be offered to craft melee weapons like rapiers and swords. But these won’t be your standard weapons once you find your first gun. Later on, you also get to craft guns at the workbench to get better firepower.

    How to Get Guns

There are two main methods to get guns in the game.

    • Early on, you will get guns from enemy drops or from looting chests. Fighting other pirates and bandits is one of the best ways to get guns.
    • Later on, you get to craft guns at the Weaponsmith Workshop once you have that in your base. It will take 10x wood and x copper ingots to build this workbench.

Once you have the workbench, you get to craft and upgrade your weapons here. Most weapons will require wood and copper ingots of varying amounts. Upgrading the guns to epic rarity will require the base gun and the Tumbaga Ingot.

    How to Use Guns

You get to find all your crafted or looted guns in your inventory. Shift them to your hotbar to use them after you have bullets and gunpowder. You can craft bullets from the Workbench, and you are offered various bullet tiers like pearl, stone, copper, and steel. These resources need to be turned into ingots at the furnace first to use them as bullets.

As for gunpowder, you can craft it once you have the Millstone. This will require 25x each of Sulphur and Ash. Now that you have your ammo, head into the character menu and interact with the Ammo option at the bottom of the screen. Add your required bullet type and gunpowder, which will be used up on any equipped gun.

To use your gun, equip the gun on your hotbar and press the required number key to use it. Hold down the RMB to aim and press the attack button to shoot.

    FAQs

I can’t craft any gunpowder. What do I do?

Gunpowder isn’t available for crafting in the demo, but you can find gunpowder as loot drops from defeating bandit sailors and inside smuggler’s chests.

What’s the best way to farm gunpowder?

Visit pirate camps regularly to find gunpowder from either killing pirates or from looking in chests. Gunpowder will always respawn in the same place, making it a quick way to farm for it.

Which is the best gun to use?

Any upgraded epic gun is the best to use, as they offer more firepower than common or uncommon guns. Pistols are great for close-range combat, while Blunderbuss and Muskets deal ranged damage.
