Wooden Eagle Dark Surge Node – 5 Fragment Locations
Fragment #1 – Quintadent Ship
You will find this fragment automatically during the Jinming Pool campaign, after solving the Generals’ riddle.
Fragment #2 – Weapons in Waiting
Head over to the southern building in South Imperial Garden and eavesdrop on the NPCs here to unlock the fragment.
Fragments #3 & #5 – Heroes’ Assembly / Turning Back from the Brink
- Complete the Jinming Pool campaign to get the Wooden Eagle diagram in your inventory.
- Then, change the time to You hour and head over to Jade Mirror Pond.
- This will start the Soaring Eagle encounter, and during the encounter, you will be led to the underground Masterwood Hamlet cave.
- You will get to this cave during the Investigate the Eagle objective.
- At the very back of the underground cave are the two fragments, one on the bed and another on the shelf.
- The fragments can be picked up anytime, even after completing the encounter.
Fragment #4 – Meeting at the Martial Temple
Head over to Martial Temple and eavesdrop on the worker NPCs on the roof to the west of the Boundary Stone.

In Sorrowfield Village, eavesdrop on Zheng Zonghua’s conversation inside one of the huts.
Fragments #2, #3, #4, #6, and #8
Complete the Ever Normal Granary side quest in Granary of Plenty to unlock the following fragments.
- Reflections on Good and Evil / Substitution – after rescuing Shen Yilun.
- Assassination on the Southern Tour – talk to Xue Ping at the start of the quest.
- The Ghost Market Grain Route – while unlocking the gate during the quest.
- Water Lady’s Disguise – during the objective to Go Up and Clear the Waterwheel’s Vines, pick up the letter To the Ember of East.
Note: You can always return to the Granary by taking the elevator on the western section of the fort.

Head over to the northern section of Kaifeng Prefecture and eavesdrop on Zhao Pu’s and Zhao Guangyi’s conversation inside the building to get the fragment. If you don’t find them, change the time to Zi hour, then check the inside of the temple.

Fragment #1 – The List Crisis
Complete the Streetwise Sage Lost Chapter to get the fragment. You will find it while completing the objective “Steal the Secret Letter Using Celestial Seize”.
Fragment #2 – Song of Mercy
In the eastern section of Velvet Shade, enter the temple and eavesdrop on Huajian Ke’s conversation to get the fragment.
Fragment #3 – Ghosts of the Night
Complete the Trojan Cart main story quest in the Forsaken Quarter to get the fragment. You will find it while eavesdropping on the conversations between two NPCs.
Fragment #4 – Rumors of a Massacre
You will get this fragment during the One Leaf, One Life Lost Chapter Quest. The first part of this quest starts at the western section of South Gate Avenue, and the fragment is obtained after completing the third part of the quest – Injustice Quest: Return to Sender.

You will get this fragment after completing the Heavenfall main quest.
Fragment #3 – Appealing to Heaven for Justice
Interact with the broken drum in Ethereal Mountain, where the Martial Fellowship Jianghu Event is to get the fragment.
Fragment #4 – The Meeting at Hejin
Near the Heavenfall boundary stone, head inside the hut to the south of it and go upstairs. You will find an Invitation Letter on the throne, interact with it to get the fragment.
Fragment #5 – Water Lady’s Escort
After completing the Heavenfall main quest, head over to the Heavenfall boundary stone and investigate the Fishy Smelling Letter on the fish stall table to get the fragment.
Fragment #6 – The Hidden Channel
You will get the fragment during the Ever Normal Granary side quest at Granary of Plenty. You will find it during the objective to “Go Up and Clear the Waterwheel’s Vines”.
Bug: Sometimes, the fragment might not show up. If that is the case, after completing the campaign, enter the cave from the fort’s western elevator to take you directly to the fragment location.
Rat Face Dark Surge Node – 3 Fragment Locations
Fragment #1 – The Confiscation of Tang Coins
Complete the Coins or Trouble main story quest to get the fragment. It is unmissable.
Fragment #2 – The Ghost Market Grain Route
You need to have the Ghost Market unlocked first as part of the Kaifeng main story quest. Then, from the Ghost Market boundary stone, take the main road west until you come across some stairs leading up.
Inside the hut near the top of the stairs, eavesdrop on the Commoner’s conversation first, then move further west and up the platforms to find two Nine Mortal Ways disciples.
Eavesdrop on them too, then return to the Commoner’s hut to eavesdrop again. Completing this sequence will unlock the fragment.

Complete Kaifeng’s final chapter, Gambit Beneath the Shimmer, to get the fragment.
