To complete tasks in HumanitZ, you are given several tools that you have to either find or craft. The shovel is required for creating crop beds and harvesting. Unfortunately, the shovel isn’t handed over at the start of the game, which makes finding this item an extremely hard task.

How to Craft a Shovel
You need to build and place a melee weapon bench at your base before you get a shovel. If you haven’t unlocked a melee bench yet, you get to craft it if you have logs, nails, refined iron, and cement. Next, gather the following materials to make a shovel.
- 1x Refined Iron
- 2x Wood
- 2x Nails
- 1x Scrap Metal
Take the above materials to the melee bench and select the Shovel recipe in the crafting menu. This will automatically deduct all the required materials to craft a shovel.
How to Find Shovels
There is a rare chance of finding shovels during exploration. Some of the areas to check are:
- Hardware stores
- Greenhouses
- Toolshops
- Gardens
- Farmlands and barns
If you encounter any parcels, be sure to unlock them to find random tools, which might include a shovel. One confirmed area where a shovel will spawn is inside the barn marked on the map above.
How to Get a Shovel Using Console Commands
As a host or admin of a server, or if you are playing solo, you get to utilize console commands to spawn or change various aspects of the game. Next, open the in-game chat and enter either /AdminAccess or /adminw to access the admin menu. Type in Shovel in the item search to spawn a shovel in-game. You could also type in /spawn item_shovel in the text box to instantly spawn a shovel.
