Half Sword – How to Make Enemies Surrender

By Sagnik AdhikaryFebruary 4, 20263 Mins Read

    Key Points

    • During combat, you have the option to make enemies surrender after pushing them to the ground.
    • You can either taunt them with insults or press your weapon against them to make them surrender.
    • Ensure that the enemy is downed, disarmed, cornered, or exhausted before attempting a surrender.

In Half Sword, forcing an enemy to surrender goes beyond simply attacking them until they’re dead. The game’s combat allows you to target enemy limbs and keep pressure on them without going for a killing blow. Once you’ve gotten them to this state, it’s time to make them beg for mercy and force them to surrender.

    How to Make Enemies Surrender

Before we get into the art of making your enemies surrender in Half Sword, make sure they’re either downed, cornered, exhausted, or disarmed. With that said, there are two ways to make your enemies surrender in Half Sword, and here’s what they are:

    Taunting Enemies

You can easily make enemies surrender by putting your opponent to the ground, approaching them, and repeatedly pressing G on your keyboard. This will make your character spew taunts at the opponent. After a short while, the enemy will start begging for mercy, which means you’ve successfully made them surrender.

While it’s a convenient method to make them surrender, it may not work every time. Having your opponent downed is a critical step before you can make them surrender.

Pressing a Weapon Against Their Face

The next method to make enemies surrender quickly is by pressing your weapon against their face. In this method, you don’t need to hurl insults; all you have to do is get close, push them to the ground, and keep your weapon pressed against their face.

Shortly, the enemy will start begging for mercy, and you’ll win the battle without bloodshed. Just ensure that the enemy is on the ground, or on the verge of falling, before you attempt to make them surrender.

    FAQs

Can the enemy recover after surrendering?

If they manage to gain enough confidence after the surrender, they can pick up their weapon and resume fighting, so keep your weapon trained on them to avoid it.

Will disarming their weapons guarantee a surrender?

While surrender isn’t a guaranteed mechanic, it makes it easier for the enemies to give up if they lose their weapons.

    Do killing blows prevent surrender?

Yes, lethal hits will immediately remove any chance of your enemies surrendering, since they’re killed.

Does weapon choice affect surrender chances?

Longer weapons, such as Great Swords, Hallberds, Spears, or Axes, can make surrender more likely, but it’s not guaranteed.

Can I surrender in Half Sword?

Yes, you can easily surrender or exit combat by pressing and holding G on your keyboard.
