Half Sword – How to Deal with the Abyss Zombies

By Kirthana KFebruary 2, 20263 Mins Read

    Key Points

    • The quickest way to deal with zombies is to spawn in with a sword.
    • Armored zombies are best taken down using blunt weapons.
    • You can also quit the game to restart your progress.

The Abyss is a morbid level that you will spawn in if you die in Half Sword. The only way out of here is to successfully kill all the zombies. While these zombies may come unarmed at first, you need to be wary of their bites that greatly damage your character. There are a few ways though, to stop zombies from getting to you if you plan on facing the Abyss.

How to Beat the Zombies in the Abyss

    • Carrying any basic sword before heading into the Abyss will help you greatly. You will get swords very early in the game, or you could find them randomly in the Abyss during exploration.
    • Polearms like the spears or candle holders are readily available when you load into the Abyss, and these are great for keeping zombies at arm’s length.
    • Armor does help keep you safe, but zombies can still bite any exposed skin if they get near you.
    • The best tactic here is to get a polearm and swipe at the zombie’s legs to disbalance them.
    • Then, you can either use the polearm itself to hit their head or switch to a sword or axe to hit them repeatedly until they die.
    • Armored zombies are weak against blunt damage, so axes like the machete are great to use against them.
    • Don’t forget that your character is able to wield two weapons at a time, so make use of this skill to quickly take down zombies.

    FAQs

Can I collect weapons and armor from fallen zombies?

No, any equipment on zombies will disappear after they die.

How do I get better weapons and gear?

You get to load into the Abyss with the gear you have on your character, so prepare yourself well in advance. Also, you will find weapons scattered across the level, but getting the best ones depends on RNG.

    When does the Seer appear?

Select the Abyss option in the Inn to speak to the Seer.

How do I reset my progress in the Abyss?

Dying in the Abyss will erase your current character permanently, and if you think things are not going well, you could exit the game entirely by closing the game window and reloading to restart the Abyss.

What do I do with the trinkets I collect within the Abyss?

If you have succeeded in escaping from the Abyss with any trinkets like goblets and chalices, you could sell them to the merchant at the Inn after unequipping them to get some gold.

Does the number of people I kill in the game affect the number of zombie spawns?

Yes, killing more people will increase the number of zombie encounters in the Abyss. The best way to deal with this is to pay the Seer or simply knock out opponents with your fists instead of killing them.
