Apart from formidable bosses and a wide range of side quests, this base is also home to many elaborate scammers, trying to loot people and mislead them. As a veteran traveler of the Verdant Wilds, I have spent a considerable amount of time carefully exposing each of these five cheaters.

Where Winds Meet Nine Mortal Ways Base – All Injustice Complete Guide
Injustice quests in Nine Mortal Ways Base in Where Winds Meet are designed to test your observational skills, rather than your combat or traversal skills. While you can complete these five injustices in any order, I highly recommend following the order below to minimize your effort and ensure successful completion.
If you encounter a bug and the injustice remains unresolved despite following these steps exactly, do not fret. Simply walk away, teleport back to the base’s boundary stone, and try again. Some encounters have certain bugs, but I have found that following the order mentioned below has the highest chances to 5/5 this quest series on the first go.
Injustice #1: Fortune Telling
Location
Go up the first flight of stairs that you encounter immediately after entering the Nine Mortal Ways Base. You can find the Fortune Telling scam vendor sitting at a table directly to the left side of the base’s Boundary Stone.
How to complete
- Approach the vendor, the Diviner’s Oath, sitting behind the table with the Tortoise Shell.
- Select the option to shake the shell.
- Repeat the shaking and grabbing process exactly six times.
- The injustice will be resolved as soon as you shake six times, exposing the rigged nature of this game.
Injustice #2: Break Wind
Location
Situated in the Central Plaza of the base. Look for a large stone that has a sword embedded in it. You can easily spot it because there’s a small crowd of NPCs surrounding it, as well as a loud vendor attracting attention.
How to complete
- Interact with the large stone and
- Attempt to pull the sword.
- Fail and watch the failure animation.
- Walk away from the stone.
- Walk a few paces until an NPC dubbed Pitiful Zhen stops you.
- Accept his offer and consume the Special ‘ Vajra Vigor Pills’ he offers you.
- Return to the stone and pull the sword out.
- Watch the hilarious sword-pulling cinematic to resolve this injustice.
Injustice #3: Cup Stand
Location
Located in the Market District row of vendor stalls. Look for a small wooden stand with three cups on the table. You can easily spot it between the Blacksmith and the General Merchant stalls.
How to complete
- Interact with the vendor A’man to start.
- Play the first two rounds normally.
- Do not just guess on the third round.
- Use your Windsense on the third round.
- You will be able to see that the ball is missing from all the cups.
- Expose the merchant’s sleight of hand by confronting him.
Injustice #4: The Foggy Cave
Location
Travel to the northern cliff of the base. Use the path leading past the boss fight arena. Talk to the three NPCs standing near the cave’s entrance to trigger the encounter.
How to complete
- Speak to One Dot and One Bam (NPCs with Mahjong tiles on their heads) standing near the cave.
- Enter the cave.
- Activate your Windsense to find the unlit candlestick.
- Shoot the candle with a fire arrow to clear the fog.
- Travel ahead to find the treasure chest.
- Loot the chest and escape the bees.
- You will be teleported outside when you grab the chest.
- Confront the two NPCs to resolve this injustice.
Injustice #5: The Maiden
Location
Head towards the Living Quarters/ Lower Docks area of the base. The meeting point for this encounter is a wooden platform overlooking the water. You can easily spot the wooden platform because it is directly opposite the entrance to the Disciple’s Sleeping Quarters.
How to complete
- Open your Private Chat menu.
- Locate a message from Fawn Chicha.
- Respond to their messages until a meeting is fixed.
- Go to the Lower level of the base.
- Stand on the wooden platform opposite the Disciple’s Sleeping Quarters.
- Find the woman dressed in Pink.
- Interact with her to realize it’s a scam.
- Follow the Quest Marker.
- Interact with the Male Disciple highlighted by the quest marker.
- Confront the disciple (talk to him) to resolve the final injustice.

FAQs
Why can’t I see the private message for triggering The Maiden injustice?
I have noticed that the message from Fawn Chicha (required to trigger the Maiden injustice encounter) only pops up after you have completed at least two other injustice encounters. I recommend that you complete the Break Wind and Fortune Telling encounters before you attempt the Maiden, as they are pretty easy to complete.
What happens if I fail the Cup Stand game on my first attempt?
You can keep retrying this encounter as many times as you want. There is no limit to trying. The scammer will happily keep taking your money. However, bear in mind that using Windsense is the only way to complete this encounter. So don’t waste your money, thinking that you can simply ‘scam the scammer’ just by playing.
Is it mandatory to fight the bees in the foggy cave?
Not really. The foggy cave encounter is designed in a way that you will be immediately teleported back to safety as soon as you grab the chest. I recommend that you keep a Health Potion in your inventory before you start this quest, and grab the chest as soon as you see it, without any dilly-dallying.
Do I need to complete injustice encounters in a specific order?
No. You can complete Nine Mortal Ways Base injustices in any order you want. However, keep in mind that the Maiden quest will only trigger after you have completed at least two other injustices. While it’s not strictly required, I highly suggest completing them in the order given above. I have designed the order in the article above specifically to guarantee 100% smooth completion.
