How to Find All Patriotic Fish
There are 10 patriotic fish to find before the Patriotic Shark event ends, which ends on the 6th of July. Before getting into it, you need to have a Shark Whistle in hand first. If you don’t have the Shark Whistle yet, you need to explore some of the locations in the overworld to find the Angler NPC.
This NPC spawns anywhere in Terrapin or Sunstone Island, Forsaken Shores, Moosewood Village, or Roslit Hamlet. Speak to the Angler and pick up whatever quests they have at hand. Each time you complete their quest, you get a chance to earn the Shark Whistle as a reward. I had to try several times before I got the Shark Whistle, as the drop chance is only 2.87%.
Now that you have the whistle, the next step is to check your map and locate the Patriotic Seas, which appear anywhere around the main Sea area or Sea 1.
How to Catch Patriotic Fish
Most patriotic fish can be captured during the Patriotic Shark Hunt event, with the exception of a few fish. To start the Patriotic Shark Hunt event, use the Shark Whistle until the event starts. There is a 33.33% chance that the normal shark event will turn into a Patriotic Shark Hunt event, so reset servers until you get the notification.
In case you can’t get the event to spawn, check your global chat for any ongoing event and location. Newer servers also have a better chance of spawning the event. Once the event starts, you get 15 minutes to capture the fish here. The event will either end once the 15 minutes are up, or until a shark has been caught.
All Patriotic Fish and Locations
As mentioned earlier, all fish, with the exception of three of them, can be caught during the Patriotic Shark Hunt event. Here is a list of the fish available during the Patriotic Shark event and when to catch them. All fish can be caught best during Clear weather.

The other three fish can be found anywhere in open waters and are not restricted to any event or location. The remaining fish are the Patriotic Flag, Soaked Sparkler, and the Party Cooler. They don’t have any bait, weather, or time requirements, so you can cast your line and wait to catch them.
I recommend finding these three common fish first since they are easy to get, then spending the rest of the event searching for the more elusive fish during the patriotic shark hunt.
What to Do with Patriotic Fishes
As the very last step to the event, you don’t have to just keep the new fishes to fill up the Beastiary. You can also speak to Larry at (-24076, 2593, -4479) and turn them in for some cool rewards. Once you meet the required amount of fish, you can unlock rewards like the Patriot title, Patriot badge, and even a new rod.
