Where to Find the Drunk Martial Artist

There are two ways to find the Drunk Martial Artist in Kaifeng:

    • From the Southeast Camp boundary stone in the Grand Canal, travel northwest until you encounter a small islet. You will trigger the boss fight once you step inside here.
    • You can choose to do a rematch by heading into the Wandering Path option in your player profile and selecting Trials > Kaifeng > select the Drunk Martial Artist from the World Boss sub-heading.

    Drunk Martial Artist Moveset Explained

There are two phases to the boss fight, and he will use his large gourd to fight long and short range. He will either toss it at you and deal AoE damage or get close to you and slam it down on you.

The boss will give the intoxication debuff by spraying alcohol all around or by grabbing and shoving the alcohol down your throat. If you are caught in the alcohol spray, you will receive the debuff.

Most of his attacks occur as combos, such as slams and tosses, occurring twice or thrice in a row. He will also rush at you to bridge the distance if you get too far away from his line of sight.

After entering phase 2, the Drunken Martial Artist will spray alcohol and light it up with fire, setting the battlefield ablaze.

Each slam from the gourd during the second phase will create mini explosions or spray fire all around. If the fire catches on to any existing alcohol, it will spread and make the battlefield more dangerous to walk on.

How to Beat the Drunk Martial Artist in Co-Op

    • Keep an eye on the wine pot next to the boss’s health meter. You need to keep it below 90 but above 20 to avoid enraging him, which makes him deal double damage.
    • This special wine pot meter will decrease over time, so take the time to deal damage normally while it reduces.
    • To increase the wine pot meter before it dips to the 20s, you need to destroy one of the many wine pots scattered across the boss arena.
    • Another way to increase the wine pot meter is to use Dragon’s Breath on the boss. Be sure that only one person is using this skill, as multiple Dragon’s Breath will increase the wine pot meter beyond 90.
    • Most of the Drunk Martial Artist’s normal attacks will be telegraphed by placing pointers on the floor or on the player. Try to avoid these marked areas or parry the attack if it gets too close.
    • It will get more dangerous while trying to destroy wine pots, as the Furious Strike attack will freeze the player in place. You need to quickly escape before the marker sets to avoid the attack.
    • During the second stage, the Drunk Martial Artist will perform the Drink, My Friend attack. This attack is unavoidable, but by standing close to the boss, you get to deal some of the damage to him, too.

How to Beat the Drunk Martial Artist Solo

    • Focus more on lightweight ranged attacks and parrying the boss if he gets too close.
    • During each attack animation, you get a few seconds of stillness where the boss is immobile. Use this time to hit him.
    • Avoid any splashbacks from his gourd, as having too much alcohol dropped on you will intoxicate you.
    • Dodging out of the way of most of his attacks will help keep your health up.
    • If the Drunk Martial Artist starts spinning in phase two, watch out for his fire breath that will follow right after.
    • You can easily avoid most of his fire attacks by standing behind him and dealing damage.
    • You should keep an eye on where you are stepping, as any dropped alcohol will be set alight, which gives you less space to move around freely.
    • During phase two, it is best to stay as close to the boss as possible and deal a lot of quick combo attacks from behind him to lower his health.
