You will never face a dull moment in Monster Hunter Stories 3. While it may be tempting to run forth and fight all the new monsties, you should take some time to complete some of the quests and side quests the game has to offer. Early on, you get to visit the Dressmaker to accept a simple side quest that will reward you with a unique armor set.

How to Start the Regalfin Side Quest
After completing the tutorial with Thea, head over to the Dressmaker NPC found on the western shoreline of Broadleaf Basin, just north of the Catavan Stand. Speaking to them will unlock the Finding the Regalfin side quests. Once accepted, you will find a new quest marker on your map. This will take you to an island in the southwestern section of Azuria’s Mirror Lake.
How to Find the Regalfin
The Regalfin is actually located inside a cave southwest of the Capital. For me, I found that the best way to get here is by using water monsties like the Plesioth. But you can also get here by air after fast traveling to the Ancient Battleground Catavan Stand.
From the Catavan Stand, head south, land on the island, then walk around to the northwest. Jump into the water to find the cave entrance. Once you find the cave, all you need to do is swim close to the Regalfin. It will notice you and retreat. Return to the Dressmaker to tell them about your findings and complete the quest.

What does the Edel Armor Set do?
The Edel armor set is a great defense set that offers 42 Defense and Water resistance. Its only weakness is Thunder, and it comes pre-equipped with two decorations:
- Antivenom (M): Helps negate Noxious, Severe, and Normal Poison attacks.
- Item Saver (M): Decreases the chance of not consuming items while using them.
How do I upgrade the Edel Armor Set?
While on the island to find the Regalfin cave, you will spot a Royal Ludroth. Defeating this monstie will give you the required materials to upgrade your armor set to levels 2 and 3.
