Finding crystals requires a more extensive search, as most of them are found underground. With the right tools, you get to mine them and bring them back to your base.

How to Mine Crystals
First, craft an Iron Pickaxe to efficiently mine crystals. During my crystal run, I had a hard time mining crystals using wooden or stone pickaxes, as these would just break the crystal node, without netting any crystal shards. Save yourselves the trouble, and get the Iron Pickaxe first. To craft an Iron Pickaxe, you will require the following.
- Iron Ingot x5
- Light Leather x2
- Linen Scrap x2
How to Find Crystal Nodes
Now that you are well-equipped, you are all set to find crystal nodes to farm. Most shards are found underground, but there are some found within water bodies or within selected biomes. The spawn points for Crystal Nodes are random, but they are always found within fixed areas.

| White Crystal | Found close to the magma layer of any underground area of all biomes. White Crystal nodes are usually found surrounding diamonds. You might also find them deep in the caves of Whisperfrost Frontiers. |
| Yellow Crystal | Found within the underground jungle of Devastated Lands and also in Howling Sands. Check out the caves within the Howling Sands that are surrounded by yellow orchids to find Yellow Crystal nodes. |

You could take the crystal shards to either the builder’s workbench, farmer’s workbench, or furniture workbench to create Seed Bags, Spore Bags, Lights, and Crystal decorations.
I can’t get crystal shards to appear after mining. What do I do?
If you are using anything other than the Iron Pickaxe for mining crystal nodes, then they will break the crystal and won’t give any shard drops.

Most crystals spawn underground, so whenever you are deep within a cave or jungle, keep checking out every area to find crystal nodes.
