How To Cure Insanity in Graveyard Keeper 2

By Kirthana KSeptember 18, 20264 Mins Read

    Key Points

    • Insanity comes along with your Energy bar, and having high insanity isn’t good for your game.
    • An increase in Insanity will hamper your everyday activities and cause tiredness in your Keeper.
    • You can consume food and drinks to lower your insanity, or even sleep to reduce it.

Being a grave keeper isn’t for the faint of heart in Graveyard Keeper 2. You do face obstacles while performing autopsies, controlling zombies, and keeping your land maintained. Along the way, your energy will drain, and you will find yourself bordering on insanity. If you wish to reduce insanity quickly, there are a few ways to do so.

    How to Deal With Insanity

Insanity isn’t something that occurs suddenly while playing Graveyard Keeper 2. It builds up over time and creeps up on you when you least expect it. During my run, I encountered Insanity several times before I could find a way to reduce it. While it can’t be stopped, there are some ways to deal with it so you can continue the game normally.

First off, Insanity is treated almost similarly to tiredness. If you are low on energy, then the chances of Insanity rising are higher. Once Insanity has hit its peak, you can’t do a lot of work that you would have normally carried out. With that said, if you find the first signs of insanity filling up your energy bar, then it is best to stop whatever you are doing and rather do the following.

    Eat Food

The best foods I found that reduce insanity are any baked goods in the Kitchen Oven. Items like Berry Pie and Croissant can reduce insanity by -3 or -5. If you have the recipes unlocked, just hover over them while interacting with the Kitchen Oven to find out which food offers the highest insanity drop. Cook multiple dishes and consume them at the same time to get all the buffs.

    Sleeping

Sleeping to reduce insanity only works if you get the Sleep symbol on top of the screen. This symbol occurs mostly at night, so I don’t recommend working throughout the night; rather, take some rest and hit the hay. If you try to sleep when the sleep symbol isn’t there, then you are just wasting precious time. Plus, this won’t reduce your insanity this way.

    Drinking Beer

Although this shouldn’t be the most popular choice, drinking some amount of Beer can help reduce a small amount of insanity. The only problem is, beer does not help with energy, so I would avoid drinking beer unless absolutely necessary.

    How to Identify Insanity

If you haven’t figured it out yet, Insanity is the purple bar that comes alongside the blue energy bar in the top left corner. If you are low on energy, your insanity will start acting up. Insanity also increases if you are working with bodies frequently, or if you work for too long without sleep. Once your insanity starts filling up your energy bar, then you will find it really hard to keep your energy up, which can hamper doing tasks.

Unlike energy, it is really hard to keep insanity down once it starts filling up. If you find the purple bar starting to take over, then take a step back and have several pies or start drinking beer. Keep an eye on your sleep schedule and head over to bed once nightfall hits. It could take several days for the insanity bar to go back to low, but it isn’t impossible, as long as you keep a check on it.

    FAQs

    How to trigger tiredness?

If you haven’t rested or slept for more than a day or two, then you will get tired and lose energy quickly.

Can I continue working without sleep?

Yes, it is possible to keep going without sleeping, but you need to craft several food items to keep you awake, especially berry pies. But if the blue sleep icon appears on the screen, then heed its call and get to bed.

    Can perks help reduce insanity?

Yes, some perks like the Butcher’s Son can reduce insanity up to a certain amount. While selecting perks, keep an eye out for the ones that offer insanity reduction.
